Francisco Lindor became the latest Mets player to hit the injured list.
The Mets, who were starting to finally get healthy, placed their shortstop on the 10-day IL with a right oblique strain on Saturday afternoon. Lindor suffered the injury on a swing during the fifth inning of the Mets’ 4-1 loss to the Pirates on Friday. The 27-year-old grimaced after the swing, jogged to first base and then removed himself from the game.
This is the first stint in the IL for Lindor this season, as he has stayed relatively heathy for a Mets team ravaged by injuries in the first half. He is hitting .228 with 11 homers, 36 RBIs and a .702 OPS.
