Safety is Naomi Campbell’s strong suit.
The 50-year-old supermodel revealed that she buys her now-iconic hazmat suits “in bulk” on Amazon, thanks to advice from fellow fashion legend Linda Evangelista.
“I bought [the hazmat suits] in bulk and I bought them on subscription, so they keep coming,” Campbell told WSJ. Magazine.
“There was one point when my subscription hadn’t come because they’d run out, and I panicked, even though I wasn’t going anywhere.”
While Campbell has always been concerned about cleanliness, she kicked her sanitizing routine into high gear at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The hazmat suit she famously wore to an airport in March has now become a 2020 relic, recently earning its place in the Fashion Museum Bath in England.
“I was surprised,” Campbell recalled of her reaction to the museum’s request. I was like, ‘Really? Why would they want that?’ But that’s what they want.”
Continued the catwalker, “It was funny because when I first wore one people were like, ‘She should give that to the hospital. Why’s she stealing?’ They were acting like I was stealing supplies from the hospital … So I started answering back, saying, ‘I got it on Amazon! I got it on Amazon!’ I bought it fair and square on the internet.”
