Some prominent Donald Trump-haters — including “The Wire” actor Dominic West and a former spokeswoman for Hillary Clinton — are openly rejoicing over the president catching COVID-19.
West, 50, told “Good Morning Britain” on Friday that he felt “joy” at the news of Trump’s illness.
Ex-spokeswoman Zara Rahim, who has also worked for Barack Obama and Vogue magazine, said in a since-deleted tweet that she “hopes he dies.”
“Well I did slightly leap in the air with joy,” West told “GMB,” appearing on the show via video link from his home in Wiltshire, the Daily Mail reported.
“I think the phrase is ‘What goes around comes around,’” the actor added.
“I just hope it doesn’t interfere with him being elected out of office, that’s all.”
“GMB” host Kate Garraway, whose own husband, Derek Draper, is battling the virus, tried to give the actor a graceful out.
She asked West if he maybe wished Trump well on a personal level despite feeling it was karmic for the president to fall ill after having downplayed the virus’s threat.
“Well,” West responded, “there’s an element of schadenfreude, I suppose.
“I’m not a fan of his, as you can probably tell, and I just hope [Democratic presidential candidate Joe] Biden stays healthy and gets the presidency as quickly as possible,” he said.
“I think Trump is a catastrophe for America and the world.”
Rahim’s deleted tweet had said, “It’s been against my moral identity to tweet this for the last four years, but I hope he dies.”
She also tweeted a smiling selfie captioned “This f***ing rules.”
Her Twitter feed has now gone private.
The president, 74, and first lady Melania Trump, 50, remain in quarantine at after being diagnosed with the coronavirus Thursday night.
Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, tested negative Friday.
