An iPhone location app led a family to the dead body of their missing 21-year-old relative in Kentucky.
The University of Louisville student, only referred to as TT by her family, was found shot dead in a car alongside the body of a man whose identity remains a mystery, according to Wave 3 News.
TT’s relatives had grown concerned when she didn’t answer her phone after telling family members she was going to the salon on Wednesday.
They then used her iPhone location app to track down her whereabouts, searching the streets of Louisville’s Smoketown neighborhood before eventually making the gruesome discovery.
TT’s brother was peering into car windows when he found his sister’s body alongside a male shooting victim inside a car on Lampton Street at 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, the report said.
Terrilynn Hardy, TT’s aunt, said one of the student’s cousins pinpointed her location with the app to a part of town that was unfamiliar to the Louisville family.
“We didn’t know if she called an Uber or caught a ride with a friend to the beauty shop,” said Hardy. “We’re lost with that. All we had was the GPS on the phone. Everything took us by shock.”
Family members told the station that based on the placement of the bodies, it appeared the victims were killed outside the vehicle and then placed inside.
The male victim’s identity has not been released, and family members say they don’t know how he was connected to the 21-year-old victim.
