With ongoing water shortages, hundreds of thousands still lacking power and a $50 billion economic impact now being estimated statewide, storm-ravaged Texas still needs our help — even if all you can do from afar is donate a few dollars from the comfort of your desktop.

Here are some groups seeking cash and other support.

TO DONATE STATEWIDE

GoFundMe on Friday launched a centralized scroll of verified fundraisers from throughout Texas, ranging from pitches for regional efforts to those on behalf of individual families in need.

GoFundMe pitches include a new effort on behalf of the family of Cristian Peneda, an 11 year-old boy found dead in his bed on Monday.

The American Red Cross is spearheading disaster relief efforts throughout Texas, and has a page that lets donors direct their cash by region and even find a Texas blood drive site.

The Salvation Army also allows donations to be pinpointed to a specific city or state.

Food bank remain in eager need of donations — find one to send a gift to directly, in the city or town of your choice, by using the zip code search button here, at Feeding Texas, which keeps a statewide list.

TO DONATE BY CITY

  • AUSTIN — Austin Mutual Aid, originally set up to help local homeless, provides emergency assistance — including food and toiletries distribution, shelter and medical care — to all residents impacted by the storm. Donate via Venmo to @austinmutualaid or to their GoFundMe.

Mutual Aid Houston is accepting donations via GoFundMe, but also recommends a roster of aid agencies that are in urgent need, including those providing resources for LGBTQ people, pet owners, and support for families with young children.

Those include:

Crowdsource Rescue, or @cs_rescue on Twitter, which is distributing food, water, generators and heaters.

The Houseless Organizing Coalition which is also distributing supplies, with a focus on the homeless.

The Houston Food Bank distributes food to more than 1.1 million people in 18 southeast Texas counties through a network of 1,500 community partners.

The Dallas Mayor’s Disaster Relief fund, sponsored by The Dallas Foundation, is accepting donations here.
