Mexican drug cartel chops off hands of three ‘thieves’ 1

A Mexican drug cartel dumped three accused thieves — and their severed hands stuffed in a black bag — on a road over the weekend.

The badly wounded pair of men and a woman, ages 22 to 25, were found by passers-by in Silao in the central state of Guanajuato on Friday — blindfolded, bound, whimpering and holding up their bloodied stumps, reports said.

Their hands, six in all, were found in a bag nearby, said the Mexican outlet Debate.

Tied to the trio were bright-green poster-board signs that included messages such as, “This happened to me because I am a thief who does not respect good, hard-working people,’’ the Daily Mail reported.

“Whoever continues to steal, this will happen to them.”

The missives were signed CJNG, which stands for Jalisco Nueva Generacion Cartel, one of the most notorious narcotics gangs in Mexico.

The trio is in serious condition, Mexican authorities said.

Their hands were put on ice and taken to the hospital, but it is unclear if the appendages may be able to be re-attached.

In 2018, a Mexican presidential candidate nicknamed “El Bronco’’ famously said during a televised debate, “We have to cut off the hands of those who rob. It’s that simple.’’

The country’s vicious cartels have cut off the hands of foes in the past.
