Meryl Streep’s prom was a night to remember.

While promoting her upcoming Netflix musical “The Prom,” the 71-year-old Oscar winner revealed that she suffered an unforgettable wardrobe malfunction on her own prom night.

“I had a pretty little dress that my mother had made me. It had two little spaghetti straps,” Streep told People.

“I walked out to the car and I plopped down in the front seat and both spaghetti straps popped off.”

The actress remembers trying to “tuck them underneath” her dress before the dance.

“I was 14, I had nothing to hold up the dress except my arm,” she said. “So I kept my arms pinned to my sides for four and a half hours at my prom.”

Streep’s fashion emergency didn’t hold her back from being voted homecoming queen her senior year of high school. She attended Bernards High School in Bernardsville, New Jersey, where she was also a cheerleader and sung in the choir.

The screen icon relived her high school days while starring in Netflix’s “The Prom” alongside Nicole Kidman, James Corden and Andrew Rannells. The foursome play struggling Broadway stars traveling to small-town Indiana to support a teen girl who wants to attend prom with her girlfriend.
