A Florida woman redefined “booty call” after accidentally broadcasting footage of a butt injection during a Zoom court appearance in Miami.
The defendant, Niurka Aguero, shared a video of a needle going into a man’s buttocks while awaiting updates on her “3rd degree grand theft charge,” according to the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s office.
Office spokesman Ed Griffith recounted the asinine incident to Insider: “It seems that during the waiting period prior to the case being brought before the judge, Niurka Aguero was involved in some kind of procedure involving a male receiving an injection in the buttocks,” he said, “which she appears to have inadvertently broadcast.”
Griffith added, “Needless to say, it appears that everyone involved in the Zoom court call was surprised” by the defendant’s derriere overshare.
An image of the patootie-plunging procedure was first posted to Twitter by Miami Herald courts reporter David Ovalle: “MIAMI ZOOM COURT: We’ve reached peak 305. Someone appears to be getting a butt injection while appearing in a virtual hearing.” (305 is one of the area codes for Miami-Dade County.)
Suffice it to say, the endlessly witty Twitterati had a field day with the cheeky incident.
“And got to the bottom of it?” quipped one social-media comedian.
Another joked, “Now for the plaintiff’s rebuttal.”
“Miami never disappoints,” remarked one observer.
Needless to say, this isn’t the first time a virtual court case has experienced an uproarious accidental interruption.
In the most infamous incident this past February, a Texas lawyer was transformed into a kitten by a Zoom filter during an online hearing. The cattorney, named Rod Ponton, has since tried to cash in on the hilarious gaffe with merchandise and paid gigs advising others on avoiding similar mishaps.
Meanwhile, this most recent butt of a joke inspired Miami court reporter Ovalle to share some other memorable Zoom snafu’s he’s witnessed during the pandemic: One involved a surprise cameo appearance by a goat.
Another crazy court broadcast took place in the middle of a dental appointment.
