Billionaire Ron Perelman lists $60M NYC home

Revlon billionaire Ronald Perelman has publicly listed his Lenox Hill townhouse at 36 E. 63rd St. for $60 million.

Last fall, Perelman unofficially shopped the property with a few “quiet” showings for around $65 million, along with a smaller, connected townhouse for a total of around $75 million.

That was part of an extraordinary sell-off that included art, one of his Gulfstream jets and a yacht — part of a strategy to “simplify” his life, Perelman said at the time, all while his business had to react to the pandemic-stricken economy.

Now the large townhouse is looking for a new owner.

The sprawling spread had been Perelman’s primary residence until a few years ago, when he moved to a smaller space more conducive to raising his two youngest children with his wife, psychiatrist Anna Chapman, a source said.

The two mansions are connected by a doorway and stairs.

The Neo-Georgian, limestone-and-red-brick $60 million mansion is 40 feet wide.

It was built around 1930 as a private club for aviators, known as the Hangar Club. At nearly 16,000 square feet, the sprawling home opens to an oak paneled foyer that leads to an original staircase.

The first floor features a “book-lined” study, a family room, an eat-in chef’s kitchen — and a garden with a waterfall and glass pavilion.

The second floor is anchored by a large living room with two fireplaces on either side, a library, a dining room, and bow-fronted windows overlooking 63rd Street.

The third floor is a dedicated main bedroom full-floor suite.

There’s also a landscaped roof. Infrastructure includes “office grade elevator cabins,” a dumb waiter and second staircase.

The basement level features a screening room, a wine cellar, a gym, a laundry room, storage and a staff kitchen — and there’s also a service door and a security office.

The listing broker is Serena Boardman, of Sotheby’s, who declined comment.

The second townhouse, once asking around $10 million, is 7,000 square feet. It is not on the market, and would not be sold on its own.

However, it could be available for sale to the buyer of the big mansion, sources say.
