Andy Reid isn’t exactly head-over-heels when it comes to Tyreek Hill’s newest touchdown celebration.
In recent weeks, Hill, the star Kansas City Chiefs receiver, has made headlines for stopping on the goal line and flipping into the end zone.
It appears Reid’s issue with the shenanigans doesn’t have anything to do with a potential taunting penalty, however.
“I’ll talk to him about that,” Reid said Wednesday of his star wideout’s trick. “I just want him in the end zone. That’s what I’d like. It’s nice he can do backflips, but let’s do ’em in the end zone.”
Reid didn’t seem too concerned about Hill costing his team with his literally over-the-top antics.
“Unless it’s taunting, it’s not a penalty,” he said.
Hill did have a score called back in the Chiefs’ Week 13 win over the Broncos, though it wasn’t his flip that drew a flag from officials — it was guard Nick Allegretti’s holding infraction.
Hill — who missed Wednesday’s practice with an illness, reportedly not related to COVID-19 — tops the NFL with 13 touchdowns and ranks third among receivers with 1,079 yards. He’s still got the rest of the week to update his celebration to Reid’s liking ahead of a Week 14 date with the Miami Dolphins.
