There isn’t any good Jets news on the injury front either 1

The undermanned Jets will be without several additional starters Sunday against Seattle, including linebacker Jordan Jenkins.

With rookie receiver Denzel Mims also missing the game due to a family emergency, the Jets (0-12) also may be without wideout Jamison Crowder, who suffered a calf injury in Thursday’s practice session.

“We’re going to be evaluating Crowder at the beginning of practice. He would be questionable at the moment. So his game status could be up in the air,” coach Adam Gase said Friday. “It’s not ideal, but there’s nothing anybody can really do about it. It’s unfortunate, especially with being our best guy, most consistent guy, a guy we really rely on. If we lose him, that’s a tough one.”

Jenkins suffered a shoulder injury in last week’s game against Las Vegas and has been ruled out against the Seahawks.

“He wanted to try to go this week, it’s just really his range of motion is not where he needs to be to play at the level he needs to play at,” Gase said. “This is the best decision really for him and us because him going out there and playing with one arm, that’s not fair to either of us, as far as the team or him. We felt this was the best decision for him, giving him another week to get ready.”

Safeties Ashtyn Davis (foot) and Bennett Jackson (hamstring) and guard Greg Van Roten (toe) also will miss the game, and Gase joked he would be “looking for volunteers” to play alongside Marcus Maye at safety.

Frank Gore is in the “back half of concussion protocol,” and Gase was unsure whether the veteran running back will be cleared to play Sunday. Guard Pat Elflein (shoulder/ankle) also is questionable.

Cornerback Bless Austin, who missed three games with a neck injury, could be activated off injured reserve. If so, he would “go right back to where he was” and start opposite Bryce Hall, Gase said.
